Redesigning information architecture of Gaia to support advanced layer interactions
(About)
Palantir Gaia is a collaborative geospatial analysis tool that allows users to plan, execute, and report on operations around the globe. This project was a cross-team effort to reimagine how layers in the application are built from the back-end, to how they are visualized on the front-end.
Our objective was to render layers dynamic and editable, while preserving data integrity and authorship provenance, and laying the groundwork for enhanced security measures. The overhaul of the layer architecture impacted every facet of the application, leading to a significant redesign of the system's information architecture and user interface.
